Testing..

Here's the first batch of jewelry I made with the hemp that I hand-dyed. I've knotted a bunch of necklaces and bracelets and given them to a coworker as test pieces, who's going to share them with her family. She'll let me know over time how the hemp is holding up and whether there are any issues with the dyes running or fading. I've been wearing a couple of pieces of the hand-dyed hemp jewelry myself, and so far after weeks of wear they're still fantastic, bringing me renewed confidence in the dyeing procedure and the sustainability of my products. So far, so good!

12/3/08 update:8 months later, the word is: they're still holding up great! the colors have not faded, and the wearers are happy and comfortable.

Rebel Rabbit Craft is Monthly!

Starting in this weekend, the Rebel Rabbit Craft Fair will be holding monthly events.

Join me at Hipbone Studio on Sunday to kick off this monthly event! It's at NE Burnside, between 18th and 19th. Easy to find, and has its own parking lot.

I will be presenting my new crochet footbags and sterling silver earrings for the first time.

It's moving time!

I'd like to introduce my new shop on Etsy: Life Adorned.

Over the next few months as listings expire, I'll be phasing out my inventory on Awesome Adornments and focusing on this new store. Some things will be transfered over, some things will disappear, and others will be given away!

Meet My Two New Models

Lacking in personality and original thought, just like most real models. I can use them as much as I want and they don't talk back. They can sit still for long periods of time and not get sore or stiff. They'll even accompany me to local shows. They have perfect, smooth complexions and a consistency impossible to capture when using a real human.

Next on the agenda (besides making jewelry!): build two light panels for indoor photography. I still only take product photos during daylight hours to get proper lighting, which is difficult when I work weekdays and try to make the most of my weekends. And, I need to get a tripod. Can you believe I don't even have one??!
